Personally Identifiable Information. When you register to use The California Endowment's CalConnect Web Pages (TCE's CalConnect Web Pages), The California Endowment (TCE, we, us, or our) collects information from you that identifies you as a particular individual (personally identifiable information). Personally identifiable information consists of information such as your name, mailing address, phone number, or e-mail address. We use your personally identifiable information to tailor TCE's CalConnect Web Pages to you, improve our services, contact you and for internal purposes. We do not share your personally identifiable information with any third parties, unless (1) we determine that an applicable law, regulation or legal process requires it, (2) in response to a request from law enforcement personnel; or (3) if we determine that we need to share such information with others to protect or enforce our rights under this policy.

Occasionally we share your contact information (i.e. name, job title, mailing address, phone number, fax number and email address) with other grantee, funding and other organizations whose activities are, in our judgment, compatible with the goals and purposes of The California Endowment. If you do not wish to have your information shared in this way, please e-mail us anytime at questions@calendow.org and specifically reference TCE's CalConnect Web Pages in your email. Please note that changes to your preferences may not be effective immediately and will only be effective prospectively. Please note further that any changes you made to your personal preferences for any other Web site owned and operated by TCE will not be reflected in your preferences for the TCE's CalConnect Web Pages unless you make a separate request for this Web site.

Aggregated Information. When you visit the Site, we also use cookies and log your IP address. A cookie is a message that is sent to your computer from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. Most Web sites use cookies and log your IP address. We do not link our cookies or your IP address to any of your personally identifiable information. We aggregate this information with that of other users and analyze it to improve the Site. We may share aggregated information with potential partners, advertisers, investors, content providers and customers, in connection with the promotion of our services. However, this aggregated information does not include any of your personally identifiable information.

No Absolute Safeguards. Although we will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the privacy of your information, transmissions on the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. Accordingly, we assume no responsibility or liability for disclosure of your information (personally identifiable or otherwise) due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access or other causes beyond our reasonable control.

Children. We will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13.

Third Parties. We do not control the privacy policies of third parties that have Web sites linked to the Site. If you click on a link, the privacy policies of the Web site that you link to will govern the use of your information by that Web site's operator. We assume no responsibility or liability for the actions of third parties with respect to their use of your information. Accordingly, make sure you are aware of, and comfortable with, the privacy policies of any third-party Web sites you link to.
